ARCH1201 PROJECT ONE- Villa Savoye Poche drawings
Poche rendering: Plan of the 1st floor. I tried to use different tones to represent different spaces according to their uses. For instance I coloured the public device for people to travel the building, the ramp , in a dark grey in order to emphasis its importance for this building. Also in this drawing, I tried to capture how the natural sunlight is traveling through the 1st floor to descibe how the pilotis lift up the 2nd floor allowing the circulation underneath the building. Poche rendering: Section of the 1st floor. Also shows the sunlight traveling through the building and the ramp coloured in dark grey is the essential part of this building as it brings the 1st and 2nd floor together.
ARCH1201 PROJECT ONE- Villa Savoye Parti drawing 1
This parti drawing shows:
-Villa Savoye as a' box in the air' , the 2nd floor is lifted up supporting by concrete stills- the pilotis.
-Pilotis: the 1st of the 5 points leading to the notion of 'free plan'
-Purpose of the pilotis: to free up a circulation zone underneath the building.
-The staircase seperates one floor to another while the ramp links them together.
-Solarium acts as a machine for generating views.
-Horizontal windows on the 2nd floor provide even illumination and ventilation.

ARCH1201 PROJECT ONE- Villa Savoye Parti drawing 2
this parti drawing shows:
-Villa savoye is in the centre of the site surrounded by trees which encourages the visitors to walk around the house before entering.
-The car-garage which connects directlyto the entrance hall.
-Strip window allows natural light traveling through. So people can stop and have a look at what is going on inside the building.
-Also longitudinal axis is intersected by the strip window,
-The entrance continues its path via the ramp which creates the spine of the building.
